Arrow First Look: Katie Cassidy as Black Canary

The CW has released the first photos of “Arrow‘s” Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) as her DC Comics alter-ego Black Canary. Fans have been anticipating Cassidy’s transformation into the comic book heroine since the series began, and it looks like their wish will soon be granted. The images appear to be attributed to episode 10 of season three, titled “Left Behind,” but the CW declined to provide an exact date for the costume’s debut. If episode 10 is correct, we’ll see Black Canary 2.0 in the same episode as Vinnie Jones’ Brick, a major antagonist from the comics.
The secret identity was first used by Laurel’s sister, Sara Lance (Caity Lotz), who was killed in the season three premiere. Since then, spurred on by her thirst for vengeance, Laurel has been training to follow in her sister’s footsteps — and now we can see the fruits of her labor in this ass-kicking ensemble.

“Arrow” airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on The CW.
